Report on Protected Areas
Recently published 'Madagascar Protected Area Outlook 2025' ( https://conservationallies.org/outlook/ ) outlines the state of the country's protected areas. These range from Critically Endangered (all forest lost in the next 10 years), Endangered (...next 25 years), Vulnerable (...next 40 years), to Least Concern (stable but conservation dependent). Of Madagascar's 109 terrestrial protected areas, only 60 are considered Least Concern and these include BCM's Beanka Protected A

New equipment
BCM has renewed equipment support for its employees across three sites: Andriantantely, Sahafina, and the Ambatovaky Mananara-Nord Corridor. Each site has been provided with new workwear and an off-road motorcycle to strengthen mobility and daily operations.

A visit to Beanka
Last December, we visited our Beanka team and the forest as part of our annual monitoring program—evaluating forest health, reviewing completed projects, and identifying priorities to guide actions in the coming year. The visit also strengthened trust with local communities, ensuring that our collective efforts continue to protect and restore these vital ecosystems.
